God Will Finish What He Starts - Beloved Women - April 27, 2021
READ: “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:6 ESV)
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: The Apostle Paul wrote to the Philippian church that he established while he was in jail. Paul could have been stressed. He could have easily been worried that all the work he put into establishing this church would have been in vain because he was away, confined, restrained, and unable to control the circumstances in his own might. However, you’ll find no anxiety in his words. You will only find joy because he knows if God established this church, surely He will sustain it. God will finish what He starts.
When we realize it is the power of God that starts and ends a matter, we are able to release the stress, anxiety, and pressure of trying to do what only God can do. We rob ourselves of peace when we feel everything is up to us. So many times we place unnecessary demands, pressure, and obligation on ourselves. We tell ourselves what we “need” and “have” to do. We run around frantically trying to keep all the pieces of our lives together, with the pressure on our shoulders to ensure everything doesn’t fall apart. This pressure does not come from God. Free yourself with this truth: Do your best, and let God do the rest. Do your part, but don’t forget God is faithful to do His.
PRAY: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for being faithful to complete the good work You have started in my life. Please release me from fear and anxiety, as I place my faith in You. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
REFLECT: What good work can you trust that God will finish in your life today?
