Take a Risk – Beloved Women – August 15, 2023

TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT

Going on a mission trip was not on my radar. In 2012, I took a risk and went on my first mission trip for two and a half weeks. I left my normal routine to share the love of Jesus with women in rural Ethiopia. That trip stretched and grew my faith.

Peter also took a risk that stretched his faith. The disciples were in a boat fighting strong winds and waves when Jesus walked towards them on the water. Peter stepped out of the boat and walked on water towards Jesus, but when he saw the strong waves, he was afraid and started to sink. Jesus used that situation to strengthen the disciples’ faith.

Growing in faith requires taking a risk. What risk are you willing to take for Jesus? No matter your situation, God can use what you see as challenging to grow your faith.

PRAY

Lord, help me to see risk-taking from your perspective. Thank you that your desire is to increase my faith and grow my character through life’s events. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
