Put on the Helmet of Salvation – Beloved Women – August 15, 2019

READ

“Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” - Ephesians 6:17 ESV

TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT

A soldier's helmet, at the time of the Apostle Paul, would have been made of leather and studded with metal for extra protection. Sometimes these helmets would have some sort of extra design on them to signify the particular regiment the soldier belonged to.

When we put on our helmet of salvation, it signifies that we belong to God. He has spared no expense to save our souls through the ultimate sacrifice of His one and only Son, Jesus Christ and He has sealed us with His Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit dwells in believers as a deposit that God will come back to get what is His.

So the next time the enemy goes for your head, put on your helmet of salvation and remember whose you are.

PRAY

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you that I am yours and you are mine. Help me never to forget that I am part of your family. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.

REFLECT

How does belonging to God affect how you live your life?
