How to Restore Your Joy – Beloved Women – February 17, 2020
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: Joy and tests are two words that don’t automatically go together. When preparing to take and pass an academic test, there is intense study, focus and commitment that is involved in the process. There will be joy after the test is complete, but not always during the process. In James 1:2-3, James invites us to have joy during our tests and trials of life. There are times in life when circumstances and people attempt to steal our joy. When I am overwhelmed or feel consumed with responsibilities, joy is far in the distance. However, James shares that joy is the key ingredient that is necessary during our tests. Joy is the flame that will reignite our souls and breathe life back into our spirits.
Your joy may seem lost and distant, but God is the ultimate restorer. Speak God’s word to encourage yourself. Pray to God for strength and perseverance, while you are going through adversity. Cry out to the Lord your anxieties, fears, and desire to have your joy back. God is the source of our joy and God will restore all that has been lost.
PRAY: Dear God, thank You for Your joy that is available to me, and strengthens my faith during tests. At times when I have lost joy in my spirit, thank You for restoring it for me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
