Speak Life – Beloved Women – February 2, 2021
READ: “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.” (Proverbs 18:21)
TODAY'S ENCOURAGEMENT: Our words have incredible power; they have the power to both uplift and to tear down. How will our words affect us or those around us every day? Proverbs 18:21 teaches us the importance of being mindful of what comes from our mouths and the powerful influence that our words have. As we speak, we should not be boastful but humble with what we say.
When God graces us with a new day, we can choose how we will react, respond, and speak when situations arise at home, work, or socially. Many times, our first reactions are to analyze, lament, complain, or worry. God is calling us to use our words to speak life and not death. We are to use God’s Word as a weapon to overcome the schemes of the enemy and speak new life and hope into our spirits. What we speak impacts our attitude, conversations, and mindsets. Every time we speak negativity, we should challenge ourselves to speak God’s Word to transform our minds. Speak life today!
PRAY: Dear God, Thank You for the ability to speak and use my tongue for good and not harm. Thank You for Your Word that is available to me to speak life to my spirit and situations. Forgive me for the times I have used my tongue to tear down and not build up. I pray to You for guidance and wisdom on how I can encourage myself and others to speak life. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.
REFLECT: What is one practical way that you can begin to speak more life into your spirit on a daily basis?
