How to Refocus Your Fear with Hope – Beloved Women – July 19, 2019
“We use God's mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments.”- 2 Corinthians 10:4 NLT
Those moments of your greatest fears, can be the threshold to some of God’s greatest transitions in your life. The next time life throws a scary situation your way, here’s a memorable way to refocus your fear with hope.
F- Filter your fear through God’s truth. Equip your mind with a bold spirit and expose the enemy’s lies.
E- Expect God to come through for your good, and ultimately, His glory. Expect Him to show up, to step in, and to act with justice and mercy.
A- Act with courage. Confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?” (Hebrews 13:6 ESV).
R- Remember God’s faithfulness. Recount stories in scripture and in your own life where God has come through for you.
You are more than your feelings. You can be trembling and still trusting God. You can face your fear knowing the Lord is your strength.
Dear Lord, you are my Great Defender. When the lies of the enemy taunt me, I pray for strength from your Word, and reminders of your faithfulness to help me act with courage anyway. When the fears feel overwhelming, still my trembling mind with your peace and your truth, as I wait expectantly on your hand. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
The only way to live a fearless life is to live looking to God. Every day, ordinary people take steps to accomplish extraordinary things while they still feel the fear. What’s one step you can take in spite of your fears today?
