Growing Full in Every Season of Life - Beloved Women - May 10, 2023

READ: “And you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority.”(Colossians 2:10 ESV)

TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: Right this moment, would you say you are half empty or half full? If you prefer mornings, you may have more energy early in the day. If you’re not a ‘morning person’ perhaps the evenings or late night hours suit you better. Weather affects us, too. Our moods can really change with rising and falling temperatures, wouldn’t you agree?

Our level of joy, strength, or peace can also change depending on the season of life we are in. Maybe you can look back on a period in your life when you felt more confident. It’s also possible that now is the most productive time of your life you’ve ever had.

The beauty of knowing Jesus is to realize that He is always the same-abundant and overflowing-regardless of the moments, days, and years we face (Hebrews 13:8). Even when we fool ourselves into thinking we are self-sufficient and our pride leads us into inevitable stumbles and falls (Proverbs 16:18), we remain complete in Him. It doesn’t matter how we feel. The Bible assures us that because Jesus lives in us, we are filled with His strength, His love, His wisdom, and His goodness at all times.

PRAY: Lord, what a relief it is to know that Jesus fills me up with Himself, and that I am not self-sufficient! Today, help me to rely completely on You. Forgive me for the times that I’ve felt I didn’t need You, even if I didn’t say it out loud. It is my delight to be empty of myself so that I can be full of You. In Jesus Christ’s name I pray, Amen.
