When God says “No” – Beloved Women – November 22, 2019

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11 ESV)
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT
The silence was deafening.
I had prayed and supplicated, yet there had been no answer. Then I heard a no in my spirit. At first, I was confused, wondering if it was God or my imagination. But it persisted and I had to accept that God had said no to the relationship. A relationship I thought He would have approved, since the man in question, was a good and godly man. It seemed God had other plans.
In that season, God reminded me that a “no” to my prayer request was based on love.
That is God’s word to us today. The fact that He hasn’t answered, or has told you “no” or “not yet,” stems from His love for you. God knows you better than you could ever know yourself and He knows what you need in each season of your life.
God’s “no” counts as an answered prayer, even if it was not what you hoped for. No matter what happens, remember that He has good plans for you, plans to give you a wonderful future and a hope.
PRAY
Lord, please change my mindset about prayer. Help me learn to accept Your answers, no matter what it may be. Let me always remember that You are a God who is intentional with every one of Your children, and provide for us, according to Your riches in glory. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
