Unwavering Hope – Beloved Women – September 23, 2020
READ: “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.” (Hebrews 10:23 ESV)
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: Hope is a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen. So often we run into people who have stopped expecting something to happen. People become tired of waiting, tired of trying, and tired of hoping. Sometimes our world just does not leave much space to hold onto hope. So often, we are surrounded by suffering, tragedies, and the disappointments of life.
We are encouraged by the writer of Hebrews to hold on to hope and not just hold on, but to hold on without wavering. How exactly is that possible? God the Father laid out a plan of deliverance wrapped in favor. The gospel. Jesus Christ. His birth-to live for you and me. The cleansing power of the shed blood of our Savior through His death. And His resurrection after which He ascended to sit at the right hand of the Father to intercede on our behalf. It is because of this beautifully laid master plan that we can hold on during the tough times. We can come with confidence before God. We can hold on to hope with steadfastness. God is always faithful.
PRAY: Dear Father, Thank you so much for salvation. Thank you for inviting me to sit at Your feet when I need help, mercy, and grace. Please give me courage to hold fast to You. You are so faithful, and I praise Your name. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
