Today's verse is Ephesians 4:7-12 with Robert Hampshire.
But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ's gift. Therefore it says, "When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men." ...And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.
"When Christ was on the earth, that was all the Church needed, right? I mean they had Jesus, they had the Son of God, they had the greatest Apostle, they had the greatest Prophet, Evangelist, Shepherd and Teacher. But when Jesus left the earth, when he ascended back to heaven, he gave, Paul says, gifts, to men... which means today, you, and I, we have a gift."
