Devotions – A Father to the Fatherless

Hands-on Faith for Families – week of April 13, 2020

Theme: Keep Our Eyes on God

A Father to the Fatherless

Scripture: A Father to the fatherless, a Defender of widows, is God in His holy dwelling. (Psalm 68:5)

Play: Challenge your kids to list as many baby needs as they can in 30 seconds. Then see if your kids can beat their “score” by listing even more needs that older kids have.

Talk: Children of all ages need lots of things to have healthy lives. Some children, however, do not have families to help meet their needs. That’s why Psalm 68:5 says that God is a Father to the fatherless and will defend and protect them. Sometimes children are adopted by loving families who are able to provide for them. How can our family help those in need?

Pray: Thank God that you can come to Him in prayer. Ask God to help you remember those who have no one to care for them.
