A Servant’s Heart is Grateful

Play: Have a gratitude contest. Take turns sharing about a nice thing that someone has done for you. Continue taking turns until someone can't think of anything to say.

Talk: When someone does something nice and unexpected, it makes us feel grateful. We appreciate what that person did because we know it took time, energy and resources. After people do something nice for us, sometimes we want to do something nice for them. The Bible says that we love because God first loved us (1 John 4:19). This means that because we experienced God’s love first, we can love God and show His love to others. We do this out of gratitude for what He's done for us. What is one thing God has done for you that makes you want to do something nice for others?

Pray: Ask God to help you be grateful for what He's done for you so you can serve others in the same way.
