And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. —Matthew 28:20
I picked up the phone one day to call ministry donor and thank them for their gift. The husband answered and quickly handed the phone to his wife, saying, “You need to talk to my wife.” I was so glad that I had been talking with my Heavenly Father that morning.
This precious couple had just received news that their son, who had been missing for 13 years, had been found dead in a faraway state. It was truly a divine appointment that I called. With a heavy heart I lifted that broken mother and father to our Lord and He ministered to them, just like He always does.
We need to be ready every day to touch the lives of the hurting ones. Not with our weak words or small hands, but with the love of Jesus. He has healing hands and comforting words for those who are broken. When our voices are full of Christ’s love they will penetrate the hurts of our world. Let’s not be afraid to share Jesus with everyone we meet. A word of prayer and a hug can change a person’s life forever. Surely that is what God is calling us to do.
The Psalmist cried out to God in a moment of real frustration, “But even so, you love me! You are holding my right hand” (Ps. 73:23 Living Bible). I’m so glad God has a tight hold on our right hands, leading and guiding us in our uncertain walk through life.
There is no way to know who is going to need your love and prayers tomorrow. As we allow God to lead us daily, He will cross our paths with those He wants to touch. Our responsibility is to have tender hearts that are filled with His great love.
1. Begin asking God to give you Divine Appointments. Then, look for them.
2. Ask Jesus daily, to love others through you.
