The Downside of Control
By: Rick Boxx
February 28, 2012

Jim and Pete both started a business about the same time in the same industry. Many years later Jim bought Pete’s smaller business.

Pete asked Jim if he thought it strange that they both started at the same time in the same industry, but Jim’s business became much larger. Jim jokingly told Pete, “No,” then added, “you never let go of control enough to grow much.”

Even God delegated. In Genesis 1:28 God told Adam, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

If you’re wondering why your business or work responsibilities have not expanded, consider turning loose of some control and delegate more.
