Power from the Word of God

Rom 15:4:  "For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope" (NASU).

Paul highlights one of the sources of the spiritual power we need - the Word of God.  Tapping into this power enables us to be the kind of parents God designed us to be.  We can try so hard to be empathetic or understanding and find ourselves frustrated and discouraged.  That is when we need to spend some quiet time with God and His book, praying and looking for the direction only He can provide.

Bible study has many values, but this verse promises that the Scriptures will encourage us.  Haven't you found that to be true in your life?  Studying the Bible through the lens of parenting can help you through those trying parenting moments.

Disciplined Bible study will prepare you for the parenting challenges ahead.  Stay prepared!
