Power Point with Jack Graham - April 4, 2005

April 4, 2005

But when he again brings the firstborn into the world, He says: “Let all the angels of God worship Him.” and of the angels He said: “Who makes His angels spirits And His ministers a flame of fire.” But to the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.”

--Hebrews 1:6-8

I heard a story about John G. Paton, a famous missionary to the Island of Hebrides. One particular night, bloodthirsty warriors surrounded him and his wife. They were ready to smoke them out, set fire to their little missionary hut, and burn them at the stake. So the godly missionary and his wife fell on their faces before God and pleaded for His mercy and protection.

Strangely, the warriors with torches in hand suddenly fled leaving the scene. Several months later, the chieftain of the warriors came to Christ. John Paton said to him, “Sir, why on the night when you had us surrounded and were ready to kill us did you and your men suddenly leave?”

The chieftain replied, “Because of the men that surrounded your hut?”

Paton said, “We had no men surrounding the hut.”

And the chieftain responded, “Oh yes, we saw strong, mighty men with golden shields and drawn swords protecting your house.”

John Paton concluded that God had sent His holy angels to protect them and deliver them from danger that night. An angel is a created being for the purpose of spiritual ministry and worship unto God and unto the believer.

We aren’t alone in the great spiritual battle that we are facing in this day and time. This is a battle between light and dark, heaven and hell, and Christ and the anti-Christ. God has given us these elect angels to be our companions, guardians, comforters, and encouragers during times of trouble. We are not alone!

You should feel completely protected now. Think about it. We have the Holy Spirit and the presence of the Lord living within us. We have the Bible as our weapon, the power of prayer, and a myriad host of angels. You may have never realized it before, but angels are protecting, encouraging, and comforting you 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Who could ask for more than that?

WE HAVE ACCESS TO UNLIMITED HEAVENLY RESOURCES TO CONFRONT THE CHALLENGES WE FACE SO THAT WE MAY HAVE VICTORY OVER EVIL.
