Time with God - August 31

“The Lord is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him.”
Praising God changes things!
Sometimes the issues of our lives can seem like giants—impossible to overcome. What is the giant that has arrived in your life? Is it stress? Anxiety? Worry? Illness? Financial problems? Relationship problems? Job loss?
When the giant arrives threatening our peace we have two choices.
One choice is to focus on the giant—how big it is, how intimidating it is, how it seems to wreak havoc in our lives. We have the choice to look at its stature, its weapons, its track record.
But when we do that we lose sight of who God is.
Our other choice, when faced with a giant, is to focus our eyes on Jesus, the one who has already come into our camp, faced the enemy and defeated it forever!
When you focus in on Jesus, your mouth speaks praises of him. You see, when you worship your vantage point changes. Within a few minutes you’re rising above the size of the giant. In worship a beautiful exchange happens. We exchange our weakness for Christ’s strength. We exchange our fear for his courage. We exchange our unbelief for unshakable faith.
Only by focusing on Jesus can we face the giants in our lives.
