THE WICK OF A CANDLE FIRES UP
Have you noticed how the wick of a candle fires up when it ignites? I know you have because you hold the match there long enough for it to happen. I believe the Holy Spirit in us does the same when we go to the Word of God. He ignites a revolution of love from within. We know it’s happened to us when we have the joy of the Lord in our heart and mind despite difficulty. It’s a rather odd experience is it not?
Currently, I am in an impossible situation – make that plural – impossible situations. I want to cry, but the Holy Spirit keeps confirming for me through God’s Word that He’s got it covered. I am to go to God in His Word and through prayer, do as He directs and trust Him for the outcome, which is totally out of my control anyway. Still, I feel the labor pains of my soul manifested in this body of mine - longing for God to drastically revolutionize me and my surroundings.
