I’m Hidden with Christ

“For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.” Colossians 3:3
We hide what’s valuable to us. In a storm, we shelter our children and pets in the basement. On vacation, we tuck cash out of sight. We lock doors, use passwords, and make every effort to keep our treasures secure.
But there’s no guaranteed safe place on earth. It’s always possible for something to be stolen or lost.
What God secures, however, can’t be lost or taken away.
What does it mean to be hidden with Christ in God?
When the Jewish leaders questioned Jesus about who He was and if He came from God, He began to teach them about His followers. Speaking of those who believed in Him, He said, “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them out of My hand. My Father who has given them to Me is greater than all. No one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” (John 10:28-30)
When we believe in Jesus, God gives us to Him. We belong to Him and no one can take us away. We’re hidden with Him and our souls are safe for eternity. Humans can’t separate us from God. Satan and his forces can’t take anyone away from Christ. The soul of each believer is hidden with Christ in God forever.
Secure for eternity. Knowing this enables me to live with confidence, freedom, and joy in serving Christ.
