5 Prayers for Your Baby Girl

One of life’s greatest treasures is the gift of an infant baby girl. As parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends all celebrate the new little life, one of the greatest gifts to give is prayer for baby girl. Our world is a harsh place and often more especially for girls. When loved ones pray, they unleash the power and promises of God over the little one’s life, and they quiet their own fears.
Why Are Prayers for Your Baby Girl So Important?
Throughout history, girls and women have been a target of Satan. In Ezekiel 28:12-18, the prophet describes lucifer’s fall from heaven. Before His fall, Satan was considered “perfect in beauty.” He is now jealous of the beauty that women possess and targets their beauty and confidence with every scheme he can think of. As a result, women are often the victims of violent crimes specifically targeted towards their beauty and sexuality. Women are far more likely to fall victim to sexual crimes than their male counterparts.
Beyond the element of violence, women are often viewed as “less than.” We see this throughout history, but this was not God’s design. God designed women to carry His beauty to a broken and dark world.
Does all this mean when a baby girl is born, we should feel fearful? No. God has given us weapons to fight the enemy. He may want to rob their beauty and steal their confidence, but when we pray scripture over our baby girls, we place a hedge of protection around them. We unleash the power and promises of God over their lives.
Here are five prayers for a baby girl and her future:
1. Prayer for Baby Girl to Experience the Love of God
Lord Jesus, I kneel before you on behalf of __________________ (put in baby girl’s name). I praise You that You have given me prayer as a weapon to protect my precious daughter. Thank You, Father, that out of Your glorious riches, You will strengthen baby girl with Your power through the Holy Spirit in her inner being. I pray that baby girl would be rooted and established in Your love and that she may have the power together with all the Lord’s holy people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ and that she would not only have head knowledge of this love but that she would experience this love in her soul. I pray that she would place her faith and trust in Jesus Christ at a very young age and that she would be filled with the Holy Spirit. I praise You that You are able to do immeasurably more than all I ask or imagine, according to Your power that is at work within me. I give You all the glory and honor and praise, Amen (Prayer based on Ephesians 3:14-21).
2. Prayer for Baby Girl to Enjoy Physical and Emotional Health
Holy Healer, I pray that as this baby girl grows up, You will keep her healthy and strong. I pray that she will be healthy in body, soul, and spirit. May she enjoy the strength that comes from knowing You. When she becomes ill or battles any emotional or mental illness, would You bring healing through a combination of doctors, therapists, or Your Almighty Spirit. Protect her please, from any generational mental illnesses that may run in our family (Or in an adoptive child’s family). I praise You, Lord Jesus, that You are not only the Great physician but also the Wonderful Counselor and the Prince of Peace. I pray that this baby girl will enjoy a long life of good health. May she be strong in You and the power of Your might. Amen (Based on Mark 2:17 and Isaiah 9:6).
3. Prayer for Baby Girl for Protection from Evil
Holy One, Your Word promises that whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High, will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I praise You that I can trust You to shelter my baby girl in the shadow of your presence. I praise You that You promise that You will save her from the snare of the evil one who comes to rob, kill, steal and destroy. I pray you would keep her securely hidden in your faithfulness. May she not have to fear the terror by night nor the arrow that flies by day. I pray that she will grow to understand that no harm will overwhelm her and no disaster will destroy her. You will command your angels to watch over her as she grows up. Thank You that I can trust You to be with her in any trouble she encounters in this life. May she know for sure that Emmanuel is with her every step of the journey. Thank You that You will show her Your salvation, and You will continue to pursue her all her life. I commit her to You, body, soul, and spirit, and trust You to protect her. Amen (Based on Psalm 91).
4. Prayer for Baby Girl to Grow up With Good Friends
Lord Jesus, You are the friend that sticks closer than a brother, yet, I know that this baby girl will need rich deep friendships as she grows up. I pray that she will learn at a young age how to be a good friend to others, offering compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. I pray that she will learn how to encourage her friends and build them up rather than tearing them down. I pray likewise that You would provide friends for her that will seek to encourage her and not tear her down. Lord, Teach her in all her friendships how to forgive when wronged and to offer compassion just as you did in every friendship. Lord, may she enjoy deep friendships with those who will be loyal to her even through the difficult moments of life. Holy one, I pray that You would protect her from getting into friendships with the wrong people. Lord, Your Word teaches that bad company corrupts, and so I pray that as she grows, You will fill her with wisdom about cultivating healthy friendships. I praise You in advance that even now, You are preparing the right friends for her to enjoy. Amen (Based on Proverbs 17:17, Colossians 3:12-13, 1 Thessalonians 5:11, Romans 12:10, 1 Corinthians 15:33).
5. Prayer for Baby Girl’s Future Husband
Lord God, I praise You that Your word teaches that You have loved my baby girl with an everlasting love. Nothing can separate her from your love. As She grows up and matures and begins dating, I pray that You would protect her from men who would seek to hurt her or use her. I pray that when she falls in love someday that she will fall in love with a godly man who will seek to love her as Christ loves the church. When she marries, may her future spouse be faithful in all ways. May He pursue intimacy with Christ and be honoring of the Lord in all things. May he be supportive of her gifts and the unique calling you have placed on baby girl’s life. May she enjoy a happy and peaceful marriage (Based on Jeremiah 31:3, Ephesians 5:25, Ephesians 2:10).

As you faithfully pray and incorporate scripture into your prayers for baby girl, you are going to quiet your own fears and be astounded at what God does in her life.
