4 Things Christians Need to Know about RFK Jr.'s mRNA Research Cuts
Last week, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced it would end the mRNA vaccine development activities under the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA). This change would also include cancelling and de-scoping multiple contracts and solicitations. This decision by HHS comes on the heels of a review regarding mRNA-related investments that began at the time of the COVID-19 public health emergency, according to a statement released by the HHS.
1. RFK Jr. Says He’s Responding to the Science and Experts
“We reviewed the science, listened to the experts, and acted,” said HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. “BARDA is terminating 22 mRNA vaccine development investments because the data show these vaccines fail to protect effectively against upper respiratory infections like COVID and flu. We’re shifting that funding toward safer, broader vaccine platforms that remain effective even as viruses mutate.”
The 22 projects being terminated by Kennedy are worth $500 million.
In a nutshell, spike proteins are the primary attribute that allows COVID to infect cells, according to News Medical Life Sciences. The data to which RFK Jr. is referring includes hundreds of medical professional peer reviews, according to Zenodo. It notes that, “Originally part of the outer coat of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, where it functions as a ‘key’ to ‘unlock’ (infect) cells, spike proteins are also produced in large amounts by the mRNA ‘vaccines,’ triggering a short-lived immune response in the form of antibodies. However, a growing body of evidence has shown that the spike protein is harmful by itself, including over 370 peer-reviewed scientific papers collected in section I.”
It was also discovered that, “…the pathogenic characteristics of the spike protein antigen, over 60 peer-reviewed studies have demonstrated that both the ‘vaccine’ mRNA encoding for the spike protein antigen and the spike protein itself can penetrate distant tissues, causing systemic harms.”

2. The Vaccine May Cause Heart Damage
According to WND, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is requiring safety labeling on all mRNA COVID-19 vaccines to warn people who take them that the vaccine could damage their hearts irreversibly, especially men between the ages of 12 and 24.
The FDA has told vaccine manufacturers Pfizer and Moderna that the warnings on the vaccines “are to include new safety information about the risks of myocarditis and pericarditis following administration of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines.”
Other information the FDA is saying must be included in the vaccine warning includes information about …“the estimated unadjusted incidence of myocarditis and/or pericarditis following administration of the 2023-2024 Formula of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines and …the results of a study that collected information on cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (cardiac MRI) in people who developed myocarditis after receiving an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine,” according to WND.

3. Demand for Transparency and Accountability about Vaccine Risks Is Increasing
A demand for transparency and accountability is intensifying in connection with the true risks of the vaccines. Dr. Vinay Prasad, Director, Center for Biologics Evaluation & Research, Chief Medical and Scientific Officer, notes that FDA data reveal a myocarditis rate of 27 million in young men. In addition, late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) on cardiac MRIs was pointed out as proof of potentially irreversible myocardial injury. He went on to note that 60 percent of patients who suffered post-vaccine myocarditis continued to show signs of (LGE) five months later,” according to The Gateway Pundit.
A study performed by Science Direct found that Pfizer and Moderna mRNA COVID-19 vaccines in particular were found to be connected with an excess risk of serious adverse effects.
“After reviewing the science and consulting top experts at NIH and FDA, HHS has determined that mRNA technology poses more risks than benefits for these respiratory viruses,” Kennedy said in a video announcement on X that was picked up by NBC News.
“Let me be absolutely clear: HHS supports safe, effective vaccines for every American who wants them. That’s why we’re moving beyond the limitations of mRNA and investing in better solutions,” said Secretary Kennedy in an HHS statement.

4. Government Ordered to Scrub COVID-19 Vax Status of Federal Workers from Their Files
Feds for Freedom (formally Feds for Medical Freedom) has been fighting on behalf of federal workers who claimed that documenting their vax status in their employee file was unconstitutional, immoral, and un-American. Feds for Freedom reached a settlement with the Department of Justice (DOJ), which says that records must be scrubbed, according to WND.
Federal agencies are now also barred from using a worker’s vax status for hiring, firing, and/or promoting.
“Our victory is a long-overdue confirmation of what we have asserted all along: COVID mandates were unconstitutional, immoral, and un-American,” Feds for Freedom President Marcus Thornton told WND in a statement.
