Could This Be Noah's Ark? New Excavation Targets Ship-Shaped Formation in Turkey
Noah’s Ark has been a topic of debate for centuries. The Old Testament book of Genesis records the account in chapters 6-9. The account is incredibly detailed and even includes facts such as God’s specific instructions to Noah regarding the ark’s measurements, how to build it, who Noah was to plan to include, what he should include, its purpose, details about the flood itself and more.
The Bible Records Where Noah’s Ark Came to Rest
As the waters receded, the Bible specifically states that Noah’s Ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat (Gen. 8:4), which is in modern-day Turkey. So in 1949, when aerial photos of the northwest side of Mount Ararat seemed to reveal a structure that looked like a large ship poking out of the ice and snow, researchers and scientists began to take an interest in the area, according to Ark Encounter, which is connected to the Answers in Genesis Christian ministry and creationism.
Then, in 2003, a satellite image of the same area was taken, which intensified interest among geologists, archeologists and other scientists in confirming whether the remains of Noah’s ark had been found. The satellite picture reveals a long, dark object that’s resting sideways in an ice glacier at an elevation of 15,300 feet, according to Baptist News.
Fast forward to 2026, and a group called the Noah’s Ark Scans team says it has obtained a permit to excavate in the area where many believe the remains of Noah’s Ark are located. Many refer to the remains as the Durupınar Formation.
Details Regarding Ark Findings Will Challenge Evolution
The team’s marketing and fundraising director, Lauren Witzke, confirmed in a post last week on X/Twitter that drilling had begun and that their potential findings would challenge many accepted theories and ideas, writing that “Core drilling has begun and the Big Bang Evolutionists are already on damage control mode.
She went on to add that, "When we are done, university curriculums will need to be re-written, and Darwinism will be dismantled. This is the place where creation began anew.”
The team has discovered what appear to be corridors and chambers beneath the surface via radar, one of which includes a hallway over 250 feet long. They have sent in a robot affectionately called “Gopher,” which is designed to go underground and explore places a person could not reach.
Witzke also noted that, “Some of the most brilliant minds in the world are a part of this 2026 expedition. This is the only study that matters. Proof of the global catastrophic flood is everywhere. Ocean fossils found on Mount Everest. Sand dollars are scattered across the mountains of Eastern Turkey. And the seashells of the Mountains of Ararat haven’t even fossilized yet.”
Noah’s Ark Scans has posted footage from its Gopher robot, and the organization’s founder, Andrew Jones, stated that the information acquired via the radar does not show rock or bedrock in the structure, according to Newsweek. So there’s a good possibility the structure is man-made rather than natural.
Many people want to believe that the flood Noah and his family endured was only a regional event. However, not only are there scientific findings that bear witness to a global flood, but the Bible itself notes 13 times within the account of the flood that “all flesh” was destroyed, according to Answers in Genesis. Local flooding wouldn’t destroy “all flesh.”
