There’s a general attitude that most countries in Europe are post-Christian. However, the European Congress on Evangelism aims to shift that and equip at least 1,000 pastors and ministry leaders from 56 countries and territories throughout Europe. Franklin Graham is picking up his father’s torch and Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) will be hosting the gathering in Berlin, Germany on May 27th – 30th, 2025. For four days and in eight languages, 25 speakers and contributors from Europe, the United States, Canada, Australia, and Africa will focus on a theme rooted in Romans 1:16 – being unashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, according to Missions Box.

“It was the Christians in Europe who crossed the ocean and brought the Gospel to the United States four centuries ago, and I am grateful for the believers in Europe who continue to be a bold and faithful witness for Jesus Christ,” Franklin Graham, president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) told the Christian Newswire.

The last European Congress on Evangelism was held back in 2000 by Evangelist Franklin Graham’s father, Evangelist Billy Graham.

“I am 83 years old, and over the last two decades, I have witnessed a significant divide within our churches,” Pastor, Theologian, and Evangelist Ulrich Parzany told Missions Box. “There’s been much debate about the correct way to evangelize and questions regarding the validity of the Bible. Many church leaders are now questioning whether the Bible is even trustworthy.”

Parzany is also one of several Plenary Session speakers.

Parzany went on to note that millions in Europe may say they’re a Christian, but they don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus, and they don’t know the Bible.

“Churches are struggling. This is why I am so excited about [this year’s] European Congress. It represents a vital opportunity to bring together leaders from all generations to encourage, equip, and collaborate. With rising conflicts in Europe, we must not underestimate the importance of this moment!” he said.

Other notable Plenary Session speakers include Senior Pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship Greg Laurie, Senior Pastor of Calvary Church New Mexico Skip Heitzig, President of Tyndale Theological Seminary Europe Gunnar Mӓgi, President of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary Albert Mohler, and there are many others listed at the European Congress on Evangelism website

Special music will be provided by Grammy winner Michael W. Smith, award-winning worship leader Charity Gayle, and various other European Christian artists.

The cost to attend is free, but European leaders who are active in Evangelism and would like to be considered for an invitation to attend the conference need to fill out an application here.
