How Christians in Iran, Christian Leaders, are Responding to Trump's Armada to Iran
The communications blackout in Iran has been going on for about a month now. Since it’s difficult to get information about what’s happening regarding the protests that have taken place in Iran and the fall of Iran’s currency, there isn’t much coverage from mainstream media. Iranians want their voices heard regarding the torment they are being forced to endure from the current evil regime, and so some who are especially resourceful are using decentralized technologies to get their voices heard, according to DL News.
One such individual, going by the pseudonym “Darius,” told DL News that the Iranian government is “afraid of the videos from protestors uploaded to the internet, so they turned off all the street lights. People are walking with Smartphone lights. Nothing is good at all. They break North Korea records in censorship.”
He went on to note that, “We are living in hell without internet, without money, without media, without any supporting.”
The Underground Church in Iran
The underground church in Iran is suffering tremendously as a result of all the chaos going on in Iran right now. 700 Club Israel reporter Rajire interviewed a pastor from the underground church last weekend, whom he called “Araosian,” asking him what he was hearing from the underground church.
“Very disturbing. Very sad,” said Araosian. He went on to speak about massacres that are happening on the streets and also mentioned that, “This regime is evil. This regime is completely evil. I’m not talking about, you know, rules or international rules. They are evil.”
When asked what message he really wanted to get out to the United States, President Trump, Congress, and the EU, he said, “Act. Act right now. This is emergency. Act and save people. Do something because they [the Iranian government] have guns [the Iranian people had their guns confiscated by the Iranian government] and there is a massacre happening…doesn’t matter what you believe right now. Doesn’t matter which political group you are. I want free Iran. As a Christian, as a pastor, I’m standing beside of people and I want to be voice.”
He went on to note that he believes God has given him a platform to speak, and so he has a responsibility to talk about what’s happening in Iran.
“I love Iran. I love America, and America should act.”
Canadian Pastor Dr. Mohzen Kazemi
Dr. Mohzen Kazemi is the lead pastor at Mohabat Alliance Church in Canada and emigrated from Iran. His church has members with family who are still living in Iran. He was interviewed by 100 Huntley Street in January and confirmed that the communications blackout includes not just the internet, but also phones and any other form of communication.
When asked what life has been like for the Iranian people over the past several decades, he responded that there were many promises that were made when the last major revolution happened in 1979. People were promised a better life, and that money from all the oil Iran produced would be “brought to their doors.” They were also promised freedom. But within a short period of time, people discovered this was a lie, especially if they said anything against the government.
Kazemi said the government crackdown continued to grow worse. In spite of Iran’s amazing resources within its borders of oil, uranium, gold, silver, copper, and iron, most of them are living in poverty because Iran’s resources are being shipped out to terrorist organizations. The people finally became fed up when their currency collapsed, and they started protesting.
He believes people are desperate for freedom, a better life, the ability to provide for their families, desperate for security, and making their own choices.
Iran Alive Ministries
President and founder of Iran Alive Ministries, Hormoz Shariat, told CBN News in January that as a 24/7 broadcast station, they are in touch with the people of Iran daily. Though he said the people are hopeful, the government is very fearful. One significant change is that in the past, the people were afraid of the government. Now, the government is afraid of the people. The Iranian government saw what happened with the United States and Venezuela, and that struck fear into their hearts that it may well happen to them, too, especially since Trump publically threatened them regarding his intent to defend the Iranian people.
When asked what makes this protesting different from what the public has seen in Iran’s past, he said it’s basically because it’s about the failed economy, fresh water, and the exorbitant price of medical care. Another significant difference, he said, is that the people are united around exiled Prince Reza Pahlavi.
“The people of Iran are choosing him as the center of unity,” Shariat said.
Shariat also confirmed that many Christians in the underground church are suffering a great deal right now. Last year (2024), many had their homes invaded by the government. Many were imprisoned, and many were murdered. Shariat said it will be even worse for them if the present regime isn’t ousted. Nevertheless, many Muslims are still coming to Christ because of dreams and visions.
Armada Headed Toward Iran
Though a massive armada has been deployed near Iran, President Trump has indicated that he hopes he doesn’t have to call it into action, according to Fox News.
In an interview with General Jack Keane (retired), Fox News Senior Strategic Analyst, Keane said that the armada is really about, “providing the president with a robust option to take advantage of Iran’s vulnerability…Iran has never been as weak as it is right now. Since this regime took over after the Iranian revolution, they took over in 1980, they are at their weakest point politically, economically, and militarily.”
He went on to note that during the 12 day war in June (2024), none of Iran’s allies came to its defense. Its allies include Hamas, Hezbollah, Russia, and China.
Sina Azodi, Director of Middle East Studies at George Washington University told TRT World Now that Iran hasn’t been able to do any Uranium enrichment since the 12 day war in June. Negotiations between the U.S. and Iran would involve Iran giving up their nuclear program, handing over any enriched uranium that they still have, abiding by a limit imposed on their missile program, and putting an end to their support of non-state groups in the region. He doesn’t believe Iran is going to be willing to give up their uranium enrichment ambitions.
Prophetic Significance of Present Conflicts
Senior Pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship Greg Laurie said in a recent video that he’s looking at the conflicts involving the United States, Iran, Israel, Russia, and Ukraine for their potential prophetic significance. He’s suggesting that there is potential for these conflicts to lead into the Ezekiel 38 – 39 Bible prophecy. He’s also encouraging Christians that they shouldn’t be terrified or afraid, rather, they should be reassured that Christ is coming soon.
