Chris Tomlin and Lecrae Team up to Perform Song Based on Ezekiel 37 Prophecy

Popular Christian music artists Chris Tomlin and Lecrae recently teamed up to perform a song based on the prophecy in Ezekiel 37.

Charisma News shares the stirring video of Tomlin and Lecrae’s performance. The song is called “Awake My Soul.”

Ezekiel 37 tells the story of a prophetic vision God gave the Old Testament prophet Ezekiel. Ezekiel saw a valley of dry bones and the Lord asks him, “Can these bones live?” (37:3). Ezekiel responds, Sovereign Lord, you alone know” (37:3).

Then God tells Ezekiel to prophesy:

“Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord’” (37:4-6).

The lyrics to Tomlin and Lecrae’s song beautifully reflect this powerful passage:

“Then He said to me,
Prophesy to these bones and say to them,
Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord!
This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones,
I will make breath enter you,
 And you will come alive.
So I prophesied as I was commanded.
As I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound,
And the bones came together, bone to bone.
And I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them,
And skin covered them, but there was no breath in them.
 Then He said to me,
 Prophesy to the breath,
Prophesy, son of man, and say to it,
Come from the four winds of breath and breathe,
” raps Lecrae while Tomlin sings the chorus:

“Awake, awake, awake my soul,
 God resurrect these bones
From death to life, through you alone
 Awake my soul.”
