Political Commentator Candace Owens Faces Backlash for Jewish Conspiracy Theories

On February 22, 2022, U.S. conservative author and political commentator Candace Owens spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference. Since then, she has been on the radar of many Christians as a potential threat to the Christian witness.
While Owens has been popular with many Catholics for some time as a “cultural commentator willing to challenge secular orthodoxies and defend aspects of the Christian moral vision,” author Simone Rizkallah, of a Christian Post VOICES piece, notes that a recurring pattern of concerning controversial claims goes directly against the Catholic teachings she claims to profess.
According to Rizkallah, Owens has given 5 concerning claims not just once, but over and over again in her addresses:
1. “Owens employs conspiracy narratives that attribute political violence and historical crimes to Jewish actors operating in concert behind the scenes.”
In a December 2024 post on X, Owens suggested that Israel orchestrated JFK’s assassination. She also named specific Jewish individuals or organizations as part of a secret network.
2. “Owens has portrayed Judaism itself as morally corrupt, linking Jewish identity to demonic influence and grotesque characterizations of Jewish power.”
In a February 2026 post, Owens called people who work for Israel “satanic pedophiles,” using the phrase “synagogue of Satan.” While this statement doesn’t target actions or polices, it does target people for who they are.
3. “Owens rhetoric recycles historic antisemitic myths, including echoes of the medieval blood libel.”
In a May 2024 post, Owens claimed that the ADL was created to protect Leo Frank. The Leo Frank case has been historically recognized as an example of antisemitic injustice, as Frank was wrongly accused and lynched. However, Owens flips the historical record, making Jews look guilty instead of victims.
4. “Owens has cast doubt on aspects of Holocaust history, describing its memory as a tool of political manipulation and raising suspicion about well-documented historical accounts.”
In an October 2025 post, Owens presented questions about the evidence of the Holocaust, causing many younger generations to doubt if it actually happened.
5. “Owens commentary attributes political corruption, social evil, and historical wrongdoing to Jews collectively rather than to specific individuals.”
In a live broadcast, Owens told viewers to learn the true history of slavery rather than believe those who were involved in or controlled the slave trade itself.
Collectively, Owens’ statements have repeatedly spread harmful antisemitic narratives, attributing harm to Jews as a whole rather than individuals or policies. Many believe she’s violated the 8th commandment found in Exodus 20:16: “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.”
