‘Spy Kids’ Star Alexa PenaVega Encourages Fans to Turn to Scripture: ‘It Will Change Your Life'

Actress Alexa PenaVega has taken to social media to encourage her fans and followers to study the word of God, calling Scripture "fascinating" and that it will impact and change their lives.

When she was just a little girl, she starred in "Spy Kids," which launched her career and put her in the spotlight. She would go on to appear in three "Spy Kids" sequels. Additionally, she went on to star in dozens of other films, including "Sleepover," "The Odd Girl Out," "Christmas Made to Order" and "Do You Believe?" to name a few. Today, the successful actress is married and has three children. She’s also added author, singer, producer and pro-life advocate to her resume.

In addition to speaking out about the pain and heartache of infant loss, as she navigated the grief of losing her daughter Indy, who was stillborn, PenaVega is also encouraging fans to read Scripture and grow their relationship with God. In a recent reel on her Instagram, she started reading the Bible aloud and encouraged fans to study, read and wrestle with the Word of God, even when it’s confusing and doesn’t make sense. Why? Because “it will change your life,” the actress wrote in the caption to the video.

Explaining the story of Jairus and his sick daughter, PenaVega recounts the passage to her followers and then challenges them to pray and believe as Jairus did, even when all hope seemed lost.

“I loved what Jesus did here,” she began. “No one is going to get in the way of the miracle He was about to do. Makes me wonder who we let into our “house” that causes a delay or flat-out stops what is already for us. Get away from the problem-focused people. Solutions, not problems. Hope, not defeat. Here’s the truth. I’m sure they had every right to be mourning at a time like that. They thought she was dead. But notice how Jesus pulled them away from the weeping and wailing. Could allowing them into the house in all the chaos possibly caused Jairus to doubt?”

The more PenaVega shared, the less IG recorded her Scripture captions. But that didn’t stop her.

In an article for Movie Guide, PenaVega further stated that this particular passage in Mark 5:21-43 is for everyone. No matter what Scripture her fans turn to, she knows and believes that Jesus will speak and meet them there.
