Bryce Crawford Defends JD Vance Interview: I Will Talk with Anyone about Jesus
Evangelist Bryce Crawford is pushing back on criticism of his interview with Vice President JD Vance, saying he’s willing to sit down with anyone to have a conversation about Jesus – and that those who disagree are free to unfollow him.
Crawford is a YouTube and social media personality whose street evangelism videos and conversations about Christianity have attracted millions of followers across social media, especially among tweens and teens.
The 22-year-old has more than 7 million followers on TikTok and Instagram combined and 1.1 million subscribers on YouTube – and has landed interviews with some of society’s biggest names, from Christian singer Forrest Frank to controversial hip-hop artist Nicki Minaj.
Crawford’s channel dropped a one-hour interview with Vance on Aug. 31, sparking pushback from some followers who accused him of compromising his message by giving the vice president a platform.
Crawford, though, said he’s willing to talk with anyone about Jesus.
“If you think someone is undeserving of a faith-based conversation because of what political party they're associated with, or they believe in, or what's their sexuality, or what's their race, where were they born, if they have a million dollars in a bank account, or if they have zero, if they're homeless, if they stink, if they smell good – whatever it may be – then you can unfollow me because that's not the gospel I preach,” Crawford said in a video posted to his various accounts.
“The gospel that I preach and I believe in is that anyone who has ears can hear, and I'm willing to sit down with anyone, anywhere, anytime, and have a faith-based conversation. And if you are willing to draw the line and say, ‘Oh, this person isn't deserving of a faith-based conversation or a Jesus conversation because of blank,’ then you lack the love of God, because the love of God is on the table for everyone.”
Crawford’s fans, for the most part, applauded his message.
“That’s the truth,” one person wrote.
“Jesus died for everyone,” another wrote.
“You are literally one of the very few who can make a real difference brother. THIS is why you’re so beautiful to me,” still another person wrote. “I loooooooooooove this about you.”
