Chris Pratt Moved by Seahawks’ Bold Faith: ‘Big, Masculine’ Men Giving Glory to God

Actor Chris Pratt is a man of faith – but seeing his favorite Seattle Seahawks players live it out inspired him in ways he didn’t expect.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie star and his son were on-field guests in February during Super Bowl LX, which saw Seattle defeat New England 29-13 for the Seahawks’ first championship since the 2013-2014 season.

“That was one of the best moments of our life. It was so cool,” Pratt told NBC’s Today this week.

But what stood out most came after the game, when he and his son were invited to join the Seahawks’ celebration.

“We got invited into the locker room, and then we watched – it was so amazing for me and my son to see these guys. The first thing they did – they're champions of the world – the first thing they did is they got down on their knees, and they gave a huge prayer, and they let us join, and we joined hands,” Pratt said.

“And it was so wonderful for my son to see these big, masculine, grown men conquer such an amazing achievement, and then immediately give the glory to God. I thought it was incredible.”

Faith was central to the 2025-26 Seahawks, with multiple members of the staff and roster – including wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba and head coach Mike Macdonald – speaking openly about their beliefs.

Pratt was also asked by Today about his own faith, including his Instagram bio description: “God first. Grateful to be here.”

He cited Christian author Christine Caine.

“There's this Christine Caine quote that says, ‘If the light that shines upon you is greater than the light that's within you – then the light that shines upon you will kill you.’ And you see it in our business, man,” he said, referencing Hollywood celebrities who are – in his words – “unhappy.”

“People have this light that shines on them, and it can really make you unhappy and unsettled and turn to things that are not good for you,” he said. “And so it's for me, [faith is] really grounding - it's good for me. It's good for my family, good for my wife, good for my life.”
