Forrest Frank Questions His Future in Music as Fame Follows Him Everywhere

Christian singer Forrest Frank says fame has led him to question his future in music, as he and his family pray about whether to continue the path that has quickly made him one of the industry's top artists. In just the past 18 months, Frank has won a Dove Award for New Artist of the Year and seen his popularity soar, fueled by viral hits and TikTok trends that have led to sold-out shows across the country. His song Your Way's Better has been featured in approximately 800,000 TikTok videos.
That popularity, though, has a downside, he told podcaster Bryce Crawford.
"We can't really go anywhere anymore," Frank said, explaining how he and his wife took their 2-year-old son to a Disney theme park for the first time, "excited" to watch his reaction to the sights.
"He's loving Lightning McQueen right now," Frank added.
But their joy soon took a turn when fans at the entrance spotted the family and began surrounding them, hollering his name.
"We walked in, and I just want to say this gracefully -- I totally understand it. I understand people wanting to come up. And I think it's great, I really do. But there is this -- we've crossed a threshold. We walked into Disney and it was like, it was like a zombie apocalypse."
Frank said he and his family "ran into a corner" of the park.
"My heart's pounding."
He phoned his manager, who then contacted security to assist the family.
"I'm not trying to glamorize it," Frank said, adding that he and his wife are praying about the future.
"We are trying to figure out what is that -- what's the limit? Like I said, I'm okay stopping here," he said of his career. "But also, lives are getting changed."
Frank shared another example of how his career has impacted his home life.
"I've been in prayer sessions, and my wife calls me. She's like, 'Where are you? I need you.' Isn't that an interesting push and pull of the reality versus the spiritual side? So all that being said, we are in a process."
Frank said he's working through a 30-day prayer journal, "trying to just figure, like -- where do we go from here?"
"Do we keep going? Do I put the pedal on the gas and we 100x what God's doing? And I'm also so honored that the kids are loving, loving it," he said of the fans of his music. "That's like the highest honor to me. But I don't want my dream to affect someone else when it's not their dream. You know, that's not my son's dream to have his dad always be shared. And that's not my wife's dream."
He said fame would be much easier if it were a typical 9-to-5 job -- something he could simply turn on and off. But, as he's come to realize, it doesn't work that way.
"I'll let you know what we land on," Frank told Crawford.
