Patriots’ TreVeyon Henderson Shares His Faith on National TV: ‘I Can’t Do it Without Jesus’

New England’s TreVeyon Henderson had barely finished the game Thursday night when a television reporter asked him to describe his emotions – and he turned the conversation to faith.
The rookie running back helped the Patriots race out to a 21-7 lead over New York with three straight touchdowns – two on the ground and one via a Drake Maye pass – and then anchored late clock-milking drives as part of a 27-14 victory over the visiting Jets at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
Henderson rushed 19 times for 62 yards and added 31 receiving yards on five catches, as New England improved to 9-2 to maintain its lead in the AFC East.
He’s scored five touchdowns in the past two games.

“It feels great,” Henderson told Prime Video. “I’ve just been staying patient, trusting the Lord's plan – just continue to do my part, and the rest I just leave up to Him. And so I'm thankful that I was able to come out here, and He allowed me to have this success. But I'm so weak without Him.
“And you know – I really mean this from my heart – I can't do it without Jesus.”
One of the most outspoken Christians in the NFL, Henderson was drafted in the fifth round out of Ohio State, where he formed the core of a Buckeyes team that marched through the College Football Playoff and won the national championship. Faith was instrumental to the success of that OSU team – so much so that crosses adorned their championship rings. A new Wonder Project docuseries, Redemption, follows the 2024 team’s faith-filled journey. It releases on Wonder Project on Nov. 16.
Henderson also credited the Patriots’ offensive linemen, saying they “make my job easier.” Meanwhile, he said the upstart Patriots – who stumbled to a 4-13 record in 2024 – want to keep improving.
“We just want to stay humble and just continue to put the work in,” he told Prime Video.
Henderson’s Instagram account is filled with messages about his faith, his bio stating simply, “Jesus Saved My Life | Follower of Jesus Christ | Running Back.”
In September, he posted a photo of himself wearing a T-shirt boldly stating, “Jesus Saves.”
“Jesus laid down His life for you and me and shed His blood to pay the price that we deserve to pay for our sins,” Henderson wrote in a message alongside the photo. “Three days later He rose, overcoming the power of sin that leads to eternal death. Through this we can be forgiven and we can receive eternal life and enter the Kingdom of Heaven if we repent and have faith in Jesus Christ.”
