Rams’ Matthew Stafford Goes Viral for 2:30 a.m. Kiss with Sleeping Daughters after Loss

One of America’s most famous sports fathers is going viral for videos that show him kissing his sleeping daughters well after midnight – just hours after a devastating NFC Championship loss.

Matthew Stafford’s wife, Kelly, shared home security footage on Instagram showing her All-Pro husband quietly walking into the bedrooms of their four daughters at 2:30 a.m. Monday and kissing them before – presumably – going to bed himself.

Stafford’s Los Angeles Rams lost at Seattle 31-27 Sunday night despite his 374 passing yards and three passing touchdowns with no interceptions. A win would have advanced the Rams to the Super Bowl.

“After leaving everything out on that field and coming up short, at 230 am, this was Matthew,” Kelly Stafford wrote in a comment alongside the videos.

The video quickly went viral across every major social media platform.

It also drew plenty of applause.

“Winning at home where it matters most,” Jack Graham, pastor of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Texas, wrote on X/Twitter about the video.

It’s not the first time Stafford and his daughters have gone viral. He routinely shares pregame hugs and encouragement with his four girls before every Rams game, a sideline ritual that has become a fixture for the veteran quarterback and his family – and that is often captured by television cameras. The Stafford girls are also often seen in matching outfits alongside their mom. Two of the four are twins.

Stafford is a 17-year NFL veteran and three-time Pro Bowl selection. He won a Super Bowl with the Rams in the 2021-22 season.

He says family comes first.

“It’s the greatest part of my life, to be honest with you,” he told the Los Angeles Times in 2021. “It changed it in so many ways. … You’ll never know what that feeling is until you have kids, and I’ve been lucky enough to have that four times. Four beautiful little daughters. I’m lucky in that regard.”
