Savannah Bananas' Coach RAC Applauds Dude Perfect's Bold Faith: 'Amazing'
Dude Perfect's gospel presentations are inspiring more than just audience members – they're also impacting those who share the stage.
The trick-shot group that became a YouTube sensation through its viral sports videos is now in the middle of its Squid Tour, combining the expected trick shots, comedy and audience participation before closing each show with a gospel presentation.
Members of the Savannah Bananas have joined the group at several tour stops, and one of them – Coach RAC (RobertAnthony Cruz) – posted a video from a recent event showing cast members and guests on stage leading the arena in a powerful rendition of "Holy Forever." Dude Perfect, he said, is impacting lives for eternity.
“While the show is amazing, here is what happens afterwards. @tylerntoney shares the Gospel, and @dudeperfect will often have someone come lead worship for everyone,” Coach RAC wrote, referencing Tyler Toney.
“Here we sang ‘Holy Forever,’ and it’s difficult to hear sound from the center of the arena, but nearly everyone stays to the very end, and it’s a beautiful sound.”
Coach RAC is just one of several high-profile guests joining the group on tour this year, alongside Tim Tebow, Ben Roethlisberger, Brandon Lake and the Harlem Globetrotters. (Special guests vary by city.)
Dude Perfect began sharing the gospel at its tour stops in 2021 after Toney said he felt God calling him to take a step of faith and speak openly about his beliefs. The presentation comes at the very end of each show, allowing fans who don't wish to stay to leave. But at nearly every stop, most remain for the message.
“What we basically landed on that day was we were going to finish the show just like normal, and then we would tell people at the end: Hey, if you guys have got time to stick around, some of you guys in here already know this, but the five of us are Christians – our faith is very important to us,” Toney told the Bible Caddie Podcast.
“It's the reason we feel like we're still doing this today. We're going to run backstage real quick, grab a drink of water and come back out, and we're just going to share that with anybody that wants to hang around.”
He added, “Dude Perfect would not be in business if we did not have our Christian faith to fall back on.”
