For many people, the most frightening thing they can encounter is being faced with their life coming to an end. A diagnosis of cancer can feel like a death sentence to many, but 3 Doors Down lead singer Brad Arnold intends to put up a good fight through the prayers of fans and the hands of medical professionals.

The rock band icon is only 46 years old and posted a video announcement on his Instagram page on Wednesday that he has been diagnosed with stage 4 clear cell renal cell carcinoma, which had metastasized into his lungs.

After a kind greeting, he went on to say, "Got some not-so-good news for ya today."

He went on to detail that he hadn't been feeling well and went to the hospital to see what the cause was. That's when he was given the diagnosis.

"But you know what? We serve a mighty God," he said in his post. "And He can overcome anything. So I have no fear. I really, sincerely am not scared of it at all.

Then, with sad eyes, he noted, "It is going to force us to cancel our tour this summer. And we're sorry for that. And I'd love for you to lift me up in prayer every chance you get."

Then he joked about, "Maybe it's time for me to go listen to 'Not my Time' a little bit, right? Thank you guys so much! God loves ya, we love ya. See ya."

Arnold has shared his faith on social media before and has also shared about how God helped him to overcome his alcohol addiction, according to the Christian Post.

After rededicating his life to the Lord, he and his wife, Jennifer, were re-baptized together in 2023.

The singer said that the highlight of his career was sharing the Gospel with 680,000 fans during one of his concerts. "I'm so thankful that God allowed me to do that," he told the Christian Post.

Arnold told Fox News that when he first started feeling drawn by the Lord to speak to his fans about how the Lord loves them, "Honestly, I had my apprehensions about it because I wasn't sure how it would go over."

He said he had no idea how to go about that, and so he sought the Lord about it. Arnold said he had a sense in his spirit like the Lord was saying, "'Don't worry about it. I'll tell you what to say. I'll put the words in your mouth.' And He has! Every night!"

He went on to note that, "If I'm going to use a moment on the stage to talk, then I want to give glory to God, and I want to take a chance to tell people that Jesus loves them [because] some people may not hear it from another place."
