A 101-year-old woman is revealing the secret to a long life, and we should all lean in to listen. She’s had a long life of positivity and has always prioritized having a good attitude. That’s something the world needs to hear—or be—more of.
101-Year-Old Woman Celebrates Filled with Joy

New Jersey centenarian Natalie Groeger turns 101 this month.
“I think always having a lighthearted spirit and a positive attitude keeps me young,” Natalie says. “Physical activity is important too. I danced and walked every day up until the last year or so, but I think there is also a lot to be said for the effect your attitude can have on your body and spirit.”
She also tries to keep her body healthy by eating nutritious foods. She tries not to overindulge and prioritizes taking care of her body. She dresses to make herself feel good, and that includes putting on a dash of lipstick.
But most of all, she tries to enjoy life. She loves to smile, laugh, and have good conversations. Every stranger gets a smile.
She’s Stress-Free, and Doesn’t Worry About Things Out of Her Control
Plus, “I don’t stress about things that I can’t control. I think you have to enjoy the moments you are given each day, stay positive, and keep finding reasons to smile,” she says.
More than 80 people attended her 100th birthday party at her living center, The Bristal at Englewood, in New Jersey. This year, she’ll have another party, but it won’t be as big as the last one, you only turn 100 once, after all, if you’re fortunate like Natalie is.
Her Family Brings Her Immense Joy and Pride
She’s proud that she’s created a legacy of love and family, now with six great-grandkids. They’re what brings her the most joy. She never takes a single moment with them for granted.
“Whether we are celebrating something special or simply talking and laughing together, that time means everything to me,” she says.
It’s a blessing that this woman has such a positive outlook on her life. She seems truly happy, and that happiness surely spreads to those who are fortunate enough to be around her.
