Girl Didn't Know She Was Texting the Wrong Number But It Ends Up Changing a Stranger's Life

Most people think about mistakes or errors primarily in a negative way. A mistake equals failure. Someone did something unintended, the outcome of which is likely to be less than desirable. That’s generally how most of the population views mistakes. Most believe mistakes and errors are to be avoided at all costs, right? Well, maybe not always.

One young woman made a mistake that resulted in a child receiving thousands of dollars to help him and his family fight cancer. The young woman was out dress shopping and wanted to get a friend’s opinion.

So, she had several photos of herself taken in a black, floor-length dress. She then sent those photos to a number whom she believed to be a friend and awaited feedback. However, she had sent the pictures to an incorrect number, according to InspireMore.com.

The young woman in the black dress sent the photos mistakenly to Tony Wood, a proud father of six children from Missouri, according to Insider. Looking to help the young woman out, Tony didn’t simply ignore the message. He responded and infused a bit of humor in his reply.

Tony responded, informing the girl that her message went to the wrong number, and that “My wife isn’t home, so I couldn’t get her opinion, but the kids and I think you look stunning in your dress! You should definitely go with that one!” An accompanying photo showed five of Tony’s six children giving emphatic thumbs up, the New York Post reported.

Sweet Text Exchange Posted on Social Media, Goes Viral

One of the girl’s friends saw the sweet exchange. She posted screenshots of the texts on her Twitter page and it quickly took off, going viral.

But that isn’t where the story ends!

Social media discovered that the child missing from the photo was Kaizler, who was 4 years old at that time. He had been diagnosed with cancer in 2015. As a result, a GoFundMe page that had been set up with a goal of $10,000 to help Kaizler had been discovered.

People began donating thousands of dollars to help the child fight cancer and assist the family hit and then cross their goal. Currently, that page has received more than $63,000 in donations.

God has the unique ability to take our mistakes and errors and make something truly beautiful out of them.
