My Thoughts on Glenn Beck’s Rally

August 31, 2010
What did I think of the Glenn Beck rally last Saturday? I thought the turnout was impressive and that those who were there had every right to voice their opinion. I was also amused at the rhetoric of the liberal media, the overwhelming number of whom donated to Barack Obama's campaign.
During that campaign the left's mantra was, "Take Back America." When the right says the same thing it is supposed to threaten the country. Jane Mayer, writing in the New Yorker, exposes the Koch brothers and their donations to right-wing causes. But what about George Soros and his gifts to left-wing causes?
Beck was right. We need a revival. But God won't give us one if our motives are political or financial. God revives people and nations to glorify himself. If his glory, not ours, is our motive, then he just might do it. Wouldn't you love to see one in this age? On the other hand, we know what characterizes the last days and if these aren't them, they must be a preview of coming attractions.
