Taking Partisanship to a Whole New Level

President Obama is claiming political credit for killing Osama bin Laden one year ago. He asserts Mitt Romney would not have done what he did. This is taking partisanship to a whole new and despicable level.
The policies that led to bin Laden's demise were put in place before September 11, 2001. In fact, President Clinton had an opportunity to kill bin Laden but refused to give the order. Aggressive interrogation policies in the Bush administration helped U.S. intelligence in ways that led eventually to bin Laden's hideout in Pakistan.
Navy SEALs who led the raid have taken the extraordinary step of criticizing Obama for making the mission political.
This was a victory for all Americans, not just the Obama administration. Republicans were quick to praise this president for giving the order last year. But for this president to claim he was more courageous than his Republican opponent and to take all the credit for the mission is worse than disgusting. It is arrogant in the extreme.
