The Republicans’ Last Opportunity

October 22, 2010

The left, particularly those in the media, are trying to weaken the expected Republican victory in the November election by suggesting compromise with the president is in order. Don't repeal Obamacare, they say; don't cut spending too much. Go along and get along with the president. Funny how this never works in reverse. Democrats are never told to get along with a Republican president.

Republicans have the nation's attention. If polls are accurate, they have widespread support for undoing the damage the Obama administration has caused and will further cause unless it is stopped. This is their moment. If they compromise it away, I would support a new conservative party to replace the Republican Party, which would then no longer deserve to enjoy the allegiance of conservatives.

There is only reason to gain political power and that is to use it to advance your agenda. Obama and the Democrats understand this and have done it. What's holding back the Republicans? They'd better not blow it this time, or it may be the last time they have the opportunity.
