Do You Put Your Spouse First?

Most of us say that we love our mate. Indeed, we do. However, can we say that we practice what the Apostle Paul said: “Love is not self-seeking.” (I Corinthians 13) In other words, loving our mate well means we set our own agenda aside, not seeking our own ways, and extend ourselves for our mate. This requires that we know our mate so well that we consider what is best for her/ him and sacrifice ourselves for their welfare. We go out of our way to meet their immediate needs. That is true love.
