Having a Teachable Spirit

Having a Teachable Spirit

I ask every couple if they are teachable as I begin every Marriage Intensive. If they come defensive and refusing to doubt themselves, they can learn nothing from me. Scripture tells us, “Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid” (Proverbs 12:1). Think about it: If we ‘know it all’ we will have little reason to consider counsel. When we approach situations from the perspective that we have much to learn, we will be open to new points of view. Do you have a teachable spirit?
