Listen for the Need

It is not enough to simply be caring people, as important as that is. We are called to minister to the specific need of others. Consider the words of the Apostle Paul when he told us to speak into other’s lives, “according to their need,” adding that our words should “benefit those who listen” (Ephesians 4:29). We are to be sensitive to the specific needs of others, and minister to those specific needs. Are you aware of the needs of those with whom you live? Do you know what is bothering them, and have you tried to speak love into their life?
