Speak ‘Wholesome’ Words

The Apostle Paul has quite a challenge for us: “Let no unwholesome words proceed out of your mouths…” (Ephesians 4:29). Wow! Nothing unwholesome! That certainly puts a crimp on any sarcastic comments, any backbiting, and angry outbursts. If we speak only what is wholesome, our hearts must be pure, and this means we will be spending time in prayer and asking God to purify our hearts and minds so that the words we speak will be pure and wholesome. How is your heart? Are you speaking wholesome words to others?
