Time with God - Aug. 23, 2011

Psalms 40:1-3

I waited patiently for the LORD; and He inclined to me and heard my cry. He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, and He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; many will see and fear and will trust in the LORD.

If you are in a desperate situation, turn your whole life over to God and wait for Him!

Sometimes God brings us into desperate situations so that we will finally realize that we cannot control our own lives and that we need to turn to Him for help. If you ignore God in those situations, they only get worse.

But if you turn to Him and acknowledge that you have been going your own way instead of His way—if you put your trust completely in Him and say, “God, I know that you have put me in a situation that I cannot get out of. I want to recognize you as Lord of my life again. I need your help! Only you can help me, so I am waiting for you”—then He will bring you up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, and set your feet upon a rock, making your footsteps firm.
