Revelation 3:15-20

“I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth....you say, “I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing,” and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked...Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock.”

Jesus is taking the initiative to renew your love for Him!

He knows how easy it is for you to lose your spiritual passion, and to slip into living a half-hearted Christian life. He knows when your Christianity has really become no more than the outward forms of going to church and being moral. He knows when you don’t feel a sense of urgency to get right with Him, and that often you don’t even realize how bad things have become.

That’s why He’s the one taking the initiative. He’s the one standing at your door. Getting your attention might involve a bit of pain for you. He will “reprove and discipline” those He loves. But what He wants is for you to realize how important your relationship with Him is and to turn up the heat on your Christian life. He hates your being lukewarm and can’t wait to see you passionate for Him again!
