Strengthen Your Feeble Arms and Weak Knees - Warrior Mom Wisdom - Week of May 9

Warrior Mom Wisdom Devotional

Strengthen Your Feeble Arms and Weak Knees

I went to bed last-night, resting in the Lord not this World. The demands placed on me in every area of my life tried to talk me into falling into despair and hopelessness due to the pressure. I knew, however, that God was training me, disciplining me, and causing me to expand my faith, my horizon and my hopes for His Name’s sake. Therefore, I did all I could physically do, I prayed as much as I spiritually could, and I went to bed, knowing that I would need at least five hours of sleep to persevere in the morning. As soon as I woke the next morning I heard, “Strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees.” I recognized this verse, and I was quite certain it was in one of my favorite books. Not surprising, it is in the book of faith: Hebrews.

Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. Make levels paths for your feet,” so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.

Hebrews 12:12-13

I knew that the later part of this Scripture was essential to the power I would receive to persevere today. The battle was not about me and my exhaustion, it is about those who are disabled physically and spiritually for whom God has caused me to join His fight. I knew that if I surrendered and quit mid-battle, many people whom God wants me to encourage would never receive life-saving encouragement. Life-saving encouragement refers to encouragement needed to stand physically on this earth, thereby standing spiritually at judgment, i.e. eternal life!

Upon this realization and encouragement from God, I felt the weight of demands placed on me lift. It was as if I just returned from a week-long vacation in the mountains where I did nothing but read, write, walk, and rest. Today I scheduled a meeting for new leaders to receive their copies of The Warrior Mom Leadership Manual, as well as other tools to equip them for upcoming Fall Warrior Mom classes. It makes sense to me that I would feel especially heavy prior to this meeting. After all, new leaders are stepping up, so the enemy wants me to be tempted to step-down. I know that there are spiritual battles raging right before me much bigger than any physical battles I see with mere physical eyes; therefore, I rise.

“Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Matthew 11:28-29

May I encourage you today to continue to encourage others so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.
