Visions of a Loving God - Warrior Mom Wisdom - Week of August 16

Warrior Mom Wisdom Devotional

Visions of a Loving God

I noticed the rays of light coming from the projector, beaming into the darkness at church. I could see dust particles in the air. The rays of light reminded me of the love that pours out from God to His children.

Have you ever felt such a powerful love coming at you that you can sense the beams of light breaking through the darkness of your despair or catching you off guard in a moment of intense joy that becomes that much more profound and beautiful? It is the presence of God catching you by surprise, enrapturing you with His devotion.

The other morning at church, I became so overwhelmed with the Love of God that my heart could not contain it, and I teared- up and immediately wished I had remembered to put tissue in my purse. God showed me a movie-reel of my life. I saw myself as a child, with parents not around, but I saw God sitting next to me. I saw myself in the military at boot camp with Jesus marching with me in the dark of the early morn. I saw myself standing by my son’s bedside after his cochlear implant surgery. Yes, God stood there by my side as well. I remembered recently crying when I dropped my teenage daughter off at the mall to meet friends, realizing that she was almost grown, wondering where the time had gone: God sat in the car with me as I drove home. I became even that much more overwhelmed by His dedication and love for me, and I fell more in love with Him than I had ever been before.

I know that God gave me these visions of His love for me, so that you could see His visions of love for you. It is my prayer that as you read this, He will show you the times in your life where He has stood by your side loving you with beams of light bigger than your despair and more joyous than your biggest celebrations.

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions – it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 2:4-7
