God's Word doesn't say, "You will not face trials of any kind so long as your life is filled with joy." What it tells us is that we will face trials throughout all of life, and to count it as joy, which will lead to steadfastness.

As you plan your holiday schedule, don’t shy away from challenging family gatherings. Before you go, pray each person will experience the love of God through you. Dress in God’s best and trust Him to give you patience and peace.

Freely giving of ourselves may seem and feel at times like it’s costing us more than we can afford. But instead, it’s adding up to more than we thought was possible to receive.

But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” Matthew 14:27

Clinging to our faith encourages us to trust God wholeheartedly, therefore giving us the endurance and strength to care for and serve our loved ones.

Let’s choose thanksgiving. Like David, I believe we will sense a radical shift in our perspective as we cling to God’s character, whatever our current season.

Let us not become weary in doing good. For at the proper time we will reap the harvest. If we do not give up. Galatians 6:9  

Sometimes, our hearts need a reminder to slow down and rest in the presence of the greatest gift ever given—the gift of Jesus.

God is the hope we can cling to. A hope that will fortify our patience as we hold tight to it. And we keep seeking him.

Heavenly Father, let us be so in tune with your Spirit that we confidently hear when you speak to our hearts.

Lord, I feel defeated as the new year has come.

Change begins with a humble and repentant heart. Bring that to Jesus, and he will help guide you towards change so you can live with more freedom here in the land of the living.

If you're facing a hard time, ask God to remind you of his love for you. Look and cling to the promises in His Word and ask others to pray for you during this season. We all need each other.
