When I awake in the morning, may it be with a joyful smile, not a grumpy spirit.

Before Jesus gives instructions on praying, he spends a significant amount of time criticizing the prayer practices of the Pharisees. By implication, he may not think much of today’s standard fare Christian prayer.

My prayer is that even when I fail at being bold, that those around me can still tell that I have been with Jesus.

When solutions seem senseless, look to Him.

Life, like nature, unfolds in seasons.

However difficult and painful your road, it is marked by the footsteps of your Savior.

Chill out. Trust God. Watch what he can do. He can do it a whole lot faster and a whole lot better than you can do it.

God shows us who He is by what He does.

The burden of healing doesn’t lie in saying just the right words. That should free us all up to pray a little more boldly for God to heal.

Here’s what I got wrong about finding my purpose.

Lord, I am just so lonely. My heart longs for friendships, for even one good friend nearby.

If there is no relationship, there is no respect for the convictions offered.

Rather than focus on winning our husbands over with our words, put on a gentle spirit and love for the Lord.
