As Christians, we are not ones who grieve without hope because, ultimately, our hope is set in eternity.

If it is true that the Bible is God’s Word, how come we give so little attention to the Bible? And if we do give so little attention to it, why are we surprised that we have so little grasp of the truth?

Love is more than just a feeling. It’s an action. When we choose to act in love toward others, we welcome God – the source of all love – to send his love flowing through our lives.

Jesus didn’t wait until we were sinless to die for us, because it never would have happened.

When we can make gratitude our first response, we keep hope alive because it turns our hearts from what we think we lack to what we have. And what we have is God’s presence, love, mercy, grace, peace, and joy

Growth hurts, but we can trust it is producing something good and beautiful in us that we wouldn’t experience otherwise. 

Back in 2007, Chuck Colson described that history in a Breakpoint he called “Honoring the Witnesses.” Here’s Chuck Colson: 

Don't throw in the towel when you feel like quitting. Show up with your prayers, make your requests known to Him, and trust He will pull you out of the pit.

We can’t lose God’s call on our lives. Each day, as we seek the Lord and obediently do the next right thing, we move closer to what He has for us. Even when we know early on what we are meant to do, the work of walking in the will of God continues...

Thanksgiving is the reason many of us are grateful for the month of November. Yet, while we may be preoccupied with stuffing our faces or talking to our kids about the Pilgrims and the Native Americans, we should strive to turn the feastful day...

No matter what stage of the growth process we find ourselves in, we can trust that the master farmer and original gardener is always causing good things to grow here.

God promises a plan for us which is more than we can ask for or imagine. To walk the road home to Him requires us to push beyond our limits. Freedom from the fear which convinces us we can’t do hard things …impossible things, is possible.  

Christmas at my house meant preparing for the worst. The worst didn't always come, but you couldn't be too careful.
